My reply on "Question".
Hello, Diagramma Della Verita! That is a pretty good question which you have recently given me though. In fact, the first ever Wiki website which I started editing is from the English Wikipedia. As to your second query, I do not think I have any upcoming plans to consider continuing it due to the dire need to complete this "Kamus Melayu" asap. But if you are really interested to know why I had decided to switch my Wikijob into this dictionary from the encyclopaedia, it might be a long story to tell you at this moment since I am still keeping myself busy trying to finish my work on the Malay vocabulary lists. Alright, maybe right now! In short, for me, it is primarily because I am passionate into adding (perhaps a little) and improving words at present, which are relatively easier than doing the articles in the Malay Wikipedia since the big sister one covers a lot of parts found in it id est complicated, not to mention deeper expertise involved in such sense as compared to this smaller sister. In other words, over here it is simply all about its lexicons or the art of learning lexicography.
The other factor which inspires me by contributing into this Wikisite would be the embarrassing amount of entries available here. Particularly when I first arrived into this Kamus Wiki (that is how we usually called it or "WikiKamus", another nickname for it if you would prefer) at almost two-and-a-half years ago, I was very astonished plus shocked to notice that this free online site has barely forty-three valid word entries, whereas the English Wiktionary has around a hundred and fifty thousand entries at the same time (suppose I am not mistaken in my estimations)! "Gosh!" Come to imagine just how big and far the gap is between them! Besides or similarly, I am quite certain that there are other users too who are much more inclined into servicing in the English Wiktionary rather than the English Wikipedia. Like for instance, take Knaggs, also known as Sir Geoffrey/Jeffrey "Jeff" Knaggs, whose apparent focus is mainly on the Wiktionary as well, which explains why he is one of the most active Wiktionarians of all time so far. These reasons are only the half of the iceberg. Anyway, welcome to the Malay Wiktionary. :-) ~ON·W·HEE·Z·IER·P·L·OT~ 06:58, 13 Disember 2008 (UTC)
- It is alright if you do not feel the urge of contributing here since nobody actually insist on you, however you can come anytime you want as you wish whenever it approves right for you and I am absolutely fine with that. Concerning the Malay Wikipedia, per chance I too may possibly get myself involve into it but encyclopaedic articles are just not my type anymore as it used to be in the first place. Once in a blue moon, perhaps? By the way, thanks for your reassurance. ~ON·W·HEE·Z·IER·P·L·OT~ 08:02, 15 Disember 2008 (UTC)
